Hooghly Zilla Parishad developed this Amusement Park at Bagdanga (popularly known as New Digha), which is ideally located beside Delhi Road (earlier known as N.H.-2) and is within a distance of 4 Kms. from Chandannagore Railway Station on Howrah-Bandel Main Railway line. The highlights of the project are as follows.  

1)              Hooghly Zilla Parishad has invested to the tune of Rs.1 crore for developing the Park with multi-faceted amusement facilities like Children's’ Park with beautiful Rock Gardens, Colored Fountain, Herbal & Floral-Gardens, Boating in the adjacent lake, Disney land comprising of Toy Train, Micky-Mouse, varieties of Merry-go-rounds, Jumping Medok, Wonder House, Columbus etc.  and other attractive features.

2)        This Park has been developed over more than 100 bighas of land with internal audio-system, flowers garden and colorful lights and fountain, which add more beauty during evening hours.

3)        Picnic-Garden, Cottage within this complex.

4)        Canteen, fresh drinking water and toilet facilities within the complex.

5)        This place is well connected by bus, train and other local mode of transportations. There is parking place for visitors’ cars and tourist buses within the complex.

New Digha Amusement Park was inaugurated on 14.01.2002. It has remained open to all to facilitate amusement for larger section of the mass with entry fee of Rs.10/- for adult and Rs.5/- for children. Picnic Spot rent is Rs.25/- for each group with maximum 25 persons and Cottage Rent is Rs.125/-.

Effort has already been initiated to set up Rope-Way facility and Artificial Sea to justify the name of this Park styled as New Digha Amusement Park.

So far the response of the people in general is encouraging lakhs of visitors already visited the Park. Even on weekdays, the attendance observed is not less than one thousand on an average.
