A) GENERAL BODY : The General Body is the apex body of the Zilla Parishad consisting of 47 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency members, 4 Members of Parliament,17 Members of Legislative Assembly and 18 Panchayat Samity Savapatis. The General Body of the Zilla Parishad is headed by the Sabhadhipati of Zilla Parishad who presides over all the meetings of the Zilla Parishad. The Zilla Parishad also has a Sahakari Sabhadhipati.

B) STANDING COMMITTEES : The Zilla Parishad has 10 nos. of Standing Committess (Sthayee Samitis) which are vested with the power to watch and review the progress of implementation of the works and releases of Zilla Parishad so far as the subjects assigned to them. Each Standing Committee consists of 10-11 Members of which one is designated as Chairman of the Standing Committee. The Standing Committees are as follows:

STANDING COMMITTEE - I      ARTHA SANSTHYA PARIKALPANA -O- UNNAYAN :

District Plan, Budget, Taxation, Finance and Co-Ordination of the work relating to other committees.

STANDING COMMITTEE - II      PURTYA KARYA -O- PARIBAHAN :

Purtya, Engineering, Poverty Alleviation Programme, Employment, Housing, Paribahan.

STANDING COMMITTEE - III      KRISHI SECH -O- SAMABAY :

Agriculture, Irrigation, Co-operative.

STANDING COMMITTEE - IV      KSHUDRA SILPA, BIDYUT -O- ACHIRACHARIT SAKTI:

Industries including Cottage, Village and Small Scale, Vidyut, Achiracharit Sakti.

STANDING COMMITTEE - V      SIKSHA, SANSKRITI, TATHYA -O- KRIRA:

Education including Social Education, Formal & Non-formal Education, Information & Cultural Affairs, Sports.

STANDING COMMITTEE - VI      SISHU -O- NARI, JANA KALYAN -O- TRAN:

Development of Women & Welfare of Children. Social Welfare, Relief for distress in grave emergencies.

STANDING COMMITTEE - VII      JANA SWASTHA  -O- PARIBESH

Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation including drainage, Paribesh.

STANDING COMMITTEE - VIII      KHADYA -O- SARABARAHA

Food & Supplies

STANDING COMMITTEE - IX      BON -O- BHUMI:

Social Forestry, Land & Land Reforms.

STANDING COMMITTEE - X      MATSYA -O- PRANI SAMPAD BIKASH:

Fisheries & Animal Husbandry.
